Abbie’s questions for me:

1. Read on screen or old school book?
I read on screen… A LOT! However, I love to read from an old school book, I prefer it. My house is full of books, unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the time to sit down and read a hard/paperback at present.
I recently purchased an e-book and haven’t read it yet. I also have a hardback next to my bed which has been left for a while… I know I need to make time… but by the time I’ve finished all of my chores and hit the bed.. I catch up on my phone (tut tut) and fall asleep 😦

2. You have a night in, what’s the best way to spend it?
My ideal night in is cosy-ing up with my husband and either watching a show whilst eating snacks and lots of junk food (tut tut… are you recognising a theme here yet?!)
Or more recently, getting in to bed early and reading and catching up on the day and discussing plans. I find I am more relaxed and ready for the next day this way, rather than staying up late (as I have done most of my life) and feeling groggy and tired the next morning.

3. Favourite book (sorry, two book questions already, can’t help myself!)?
My favourite book that I read last was ‘The Other Hand’ by Chris Cleaver, it had me gripped and I couldn’t put it down, it was a suspense and gave an insight into African rural life.
Another would be ‘The Kite Runner’ by Khaled Hosseini, this left me feeling incredibly sad, wondering how two lives that were so intertwined could have such different outcomes. I know I’m giving too many ‘favourite book’ answers here… but while I’m at it (ha ha) I’d like to mention ‘Brave New World’ by Aldous Huxley. I read this book when I was a teenager, but it has stayed with me ever since. Huxley, predicted the future and to this day when I see progress in technology and the way people want to live, I think about what may be coming as mentioned by Huxley himself (flying cars, test tube babies etc).

4. Favourite place in the world – that you’ve been to?
My favourite place has to be Italy. I just love everything about it, the architecture, the people, their passion, the fashion, the food, the scenery… I could go on!

5. The place you would most like to go?
I would like to go to the Maldives. I know there isn’t all that much to do there, it just appeals to me. The white sand, the clear blue seas, the fish, the expanse…. and the serenity that it exudes just by looking at a photo of an island there!

6. Bungee jump or skydive (I haven’t done either but would probably skydive)?
EEEEK!!! Neither I would hope… but if I HAD to it would be to sky dive…. praying hard that my parachute would work and I wouldn’t break my legs up on landing! :O

7. What’s the best part of blogging for you?
I love getting my thoughts out on paper, to be read again and again, that may start a discussion, or get somebody reflecting up on a situation and maybe help them to make a positive change.
This blog isn’t supposed to be about me, as much as it is supposed to be about us all, our lives and all of the different aspects that we all endure and try to get through.

8. Most played song over the last month?
I actually haven’t had time to listen to anything! When I’ve been in the car, I’ve been trying to listen to the news, so I can catch up on all the horrific world events and traumatise myself that little bit more(!) Why not eh?! 😉

9. Favourite smell (for me, fresh cut grass, home baking, the beach)?
HOME BAKING!!! I love cake… I love the smell of freshly baked goodies, it is the most warm and welcoming and homely smell ever.

10. Best holiday memory?
I have so many with so many of my favourite people. However, the one that just came to mind is the funniest ever and the goofiest…
My cousin and I, when we were teenagers, left our beach chalet to go and watch the sunrise, we hadn’t slept all night and had been chatting. We could see that dawn was about to break, so we left everyone sleeping and sneaked out.
When we got to the beach, we sat down on a bench and carried on talking…about half an hour or so later, we realised that it was really bright and sunny and wondered where the sunrise was… we turned around and obviously the sun had already risen BEHIND us over the sea!!! LOL!!!

We laughed so much and so loudly that a lady opened her window and screamed “SHUT UP!!!” at us! (It was 5am in the morning)
I can’t forget how dumb that moment was, but definitely one that I’ll never forget! 🙂

11. Best tip for other new bloggers?
Don’t worry about what people think and don’t worry about gaining a following or getting lots of ‘likes’.
My motto in life… be yourself, be an individual and JUST DO IT! 🙂
