My first born was in hospital for the first 2 weeks of his life and he had so many doctors and specialists look after him too. Although I left them all a card and some chocolates  to thank them when he was discharged, I never went back to tell them how he is doing so many years later.
I did give money towards buying the hospital neonatal unit an incubator, but I never personally spoke to those special people again.
This article and video makes me want to do the same. Go and find them and thank them.
