HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS!
I saw this idea last year and took a photo of it. It’s such a great idea and a novel way of remembering all of the GOOD things that happen in your life, as opposed to the bad…
Starting January 1st 2015, write down the good things that happen to you on little pieces of paper and put them in a jar. These can include:
-The beauty of nature
– “LOL” moments
-Memories worth saving
– Daily blessings
Then on December 31st 2015 (or whenever you need a pick me up) open the jar and read all of the AMAZING things that happened to you!
In November I discussed how ‘happy’ people spend their lives in my post entitled ‘No Regrets’ https://accidentallyreflective.com/2014/11/13/no-regrets/ :
“If you ask people who are really happy, why they are happy, you’re very likely to get a similar answer from them all. And no I’m not talking about people that ‘look‘ happy, those with lots of money and big houses or millions of followers and fans.
I’m talking about those people who take each day as it comes, they’re not planning to obtain the perfect body, perfect house, dream car, dream job or dream holiday. They’re not sucked in to being told how or what their life should be.
They are aspiring to building bonds and better relationships with other people, helping others and being resourceful with what they’ve got and using it.
They are forgiving, don’t compare themselves to others and they are always always always grateful for what they have.”
So this idea of writing down all of your good moments is a great way of ensuring that you remain grateful and hopefully happy throughout the year.
Whenever you feel things aren’t going your way or you feel disillusioned with life… take out the jar and you’ll see that you close it again with a smile. 🙂
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
– Ralph Waldo Emerson
I wish you all the BEST in 2015! I hope it is full of happiness, success and a lot of good memories to put in that good ol’ jar of yours 😉
Stay grateful. Stay HAPPY!
Have a good one!
